I always sit in my window when I play my guitar. I say it's because I like the sun and the crickets and the pale blue sky, but really it's just me hoping that you'll hear my sad, soulful songs and come running back to me. Maybe if the wind is just right...
You asked me once to play some of my songs for you. I'd never played my songs for anybody, and I told you so. To let you hear them would be like letting you explore the darkest depths of my soul. I wasn't ready for that yet. I just needed time.
But time was something that you didn't have - just one of the things that you weren't willing to give up for me. Now I sit here and wonder how that was fair since I almost gave up everything for you, even an innocence that I'd held onto for so long. But you told me that you loved me, and I believed you. I even forgave you when you told me about her. You said that it wasn't your fault and that you were sorry. And I believed you.
